Stare Star Stare, February 6th, 2024, duration (00:45)
A digital collage animation is being played as a projection onto a wall. The screen’s projector is blurred, making it hard to see, and the animation zooms in and out. The sounds in this piece are from found Tv start-up sounds and background noise effect. In short, this is the start of Adrienne’s digital work where she explores how certain women, whether common or famous, are seen or projected by playing around with imagery and quality.

A montage compilation of beauty commercials and PSA’s from the Prelinger Archives to be repeated with certain clips reappearing throughout the sequence. It comments on how everyone is unique.

Adrienne had created a film piece in which she covered a blank canvas with book pages featuring chapter covers with hearts. She colored over the pages using makeup materials such as eye powder, glued other book characters onto the canvas, and used birthday cards shaped like candles as cutouts to be inserted into a pill bottle.

All archival footage is from the Prelinger Archives and is used to compile specific commercials and PSA’s depicting how omen are to be seen and perceived. The audio in this piece is heavily edited, looped, and delayed to create a distorted noise, making it challenging to discern what is truly happening on the different screens.
HELLO, Still Image, March 14th, 2024, duration (01:03)
A self portrait video over re-stages a composition with sound. It includes off-camera commentary as a conceptual device and introduces new activities and movements to the scene. In this piece, Adrienne’s voice is heavily distorted and she creates her own foley sounds, such as door handles opening and closing, quiet footsteps, knocking, and the quiet fall of a bedside lamp, along with very slight ambient sounds within the recording space. The piece is influenced by re-staging an Andy Warhol piece of Edie Sedgwick.
That’s Life Honey, Still Image, March 27th, 2024, duration (00:10)
A digital collage image then turned into a short risograph filmed piece with Tv Girl’s song “Taking What’s Not Yours” Playing edited to the video. In this short, there is an issue with how women are to be pretty like if they smiled more, weighed less and that everyone hates them and their life is being taken away by whats not theirs at all.

A compilation’s of different screens through digital collage animations, clips from YouTube, and footage from the Prelinger Archives. The audio is heavily edited, looped, and repeated. Overall, this is a non-linear narrative video piece one must critique the portrayal of women, their bodies, beauty and lifestyle.

It’s a birthday to n e v e r forget… In the background, the popped out balloons represent the shattered dreams of being loved, waiting and losing hope.

A digital collage animation with featuring flashing cameras and pictures flashing at different times. Including a found ASMR YouTube clip with phrases like “gorgeous, oh my god…” and other kinds of praise. This is to highlight women throughout the sequence.

A small digital collage using faded and slowed down voices from Barbie doll commercials found on YouTube, along with a sound of a heel. This piece aims to show how women, who grew up playing with dolls, aspire to be like Barbie at some point in their lives.

A digital collage animation that highlights how women are to be seen and treated like cattle. In this piece the women in it have been branded into wearing the finest things in life to be considered beautiful. The audio is heavily distorted and low and hard to hear on purpose.

A digital collage animation with a waving effect to distort the image. The audio is a song from Tame Impala “Lost in Yesterday”. The animation portrays three women who work from home and are depicted as lovesick girls who have had their girlhood taken away from them. This piece is part of a digital portrait series.
